Post-Hurricane Sandy Message From the President

 

 

 

 

Greetings HeroClix Retailers and Fans,

It’s been a rather challenging couple of weeks for us here at WizKids Games in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for all the heartfelt notes and wishes during what has been a trying time for the staff here at WizKids Games.

The good news is that beyond some electrical issues and minor damage, there were no injuries or significant losses among the staff. I wish I could say the same for the office and the city of Hillside, NJ. The WizKids/NECA office was without power or Internet for the better part of 10 business days. During that time we did our best to keep the business moving forward with a combination of cell phones, generators and some 4G Hot Spots. Obviously, this wasn’t an ideal situation but considering we were in the middle of major delivery and release preparations we tried to do everything within our means to keep the product moving.

At the retail and storefront level, beyond a few minor delays with the most recent Batman Set, you’ve probably seen very little impact. I say this knowing that a minor delay on a release date driven product is pretty serious. We’ve done our best to minimize such an event but in the end, we were out of commission for 10 days.

For all of our players and customers, other than the minor delays noted above, there should be very little noticeable effect.

Finally, we know many of you have had questions regarding the Holiday promotional HeroClix figures we first revealed at the Alliance Open House at Ft Wayne. One of the consequences of the Hurricane is that we are unable to fire off this awesome Holiday promo program as originally planned. Instead of tempting fate, we are going to push the program off into Q1 of 2013.

We realize that many of you may be disappointed by the delay, and we hope that everyone understands that the decision to delay the program was not made lightly. We are very excited about these figures but we want to ensure that getting them out to our retail partners is not to the detriment of our prior commitments.

When we do launch this program, it will be with all the attention and fanfare that it deserves, and we will communicate the details in a timely and forthright fashion to you all when we are ready to go.
