With the monastery secured and Lijanne’s remains resting peacefully in the surrounding hills, we have taken a moment to rest atop the ramparts. While we await Bellatoris and Milo to deliver new orders, we have begun to tell stories of our various exploits over the past season. Most interesting is a tale of a run-in with Ulharos, a young blue dragon. Numerous rumors have been told of the young offspring of Eshaedra, and our fellow confirmed many of them. The young dragon evidently takes great glee in finishing off his opponent, as if he grows stronger with the death of each foe. Like his mother, he wields devastating Lightning Breath and prefers to stay far from his target, all the better to Snipe at them from unsuspecting angles. Ever the Opportunist, Ulharos has no issue with seeking out an injured opponent and having his way with them.

To say that he is full of Hubris is evidently an understatement. The young dragon displayed great bouts of arrogance as he flew around the battlefield, delighting in each attack. He even displayed a Necklace of Adaptation as if to scoff at the attacks of his foes, showing further how lesser beings were almost below his notice. Many foes were impacted by a Ray of Sickness, growing weaker and more ineffective as the battle wore on. Luckily our companion was able to escape that encounter in one piece. I’m now confident that none of us will underestimate the young blue dragon if we ever happen to cross paths with him.

We have arrived at the Sacred Stone Monastery and our hopes of finding Lijanne alive and well have diminished. It appears evident that the masters of this place are members of the Cult of the Black Earth and whatever counsel she may have received here was likely meted out from the tip of a sword. Valen Shatterhelm stands boldly at the base of the monastery’s elevated rampart, silently daring anyone to approach his forces. With Claws of the Umber Hulk in each hand, he stands poised to rend, in one stroke, the armor, flesh and bone of anyone foolish enough to get too close to him. His grim visage seems to shimmer, possibly magically enhanced by Armor Crystals, making him nearly impervious to breath attacks.

A born leader, his exploitive attacks are legendary for scoring Improved Critical damage to his opponents. His assembled troops stand ready, astride large, hulking Bulettes. Their ability to Burrow under the earth and reappear at other areas of the battlefield are going to be a challenge we will have to fight hard to overcome. We’ve also been warned to keep vigilant against any soldier in possession of an Exploding Gem. Though rumored to be rare, a fighter can cause serious damage by tossing one into the midst of his enemies. With powerful forces on the ground and blinding mirrors keeping our flying forces at bay, this will truly be a battle for the ages.

Entry #75
After our successful mission to the Rivergard Keep, I and several of my companions have been chosen to partake in an expedition to the Sacred Stone Monastery to determine the whereabouts of Lijanne, a gifted seer of the Emerald Enclave. Leading our party is Milo Timberheart, a human ranger astride Bellatoris, a mighty pegasus. Stories have circulated about the many battles they have undertaken together, with Milo providing cover fire as Bellatoris flies into action. Aurelia, a human cleric, has also been known to accompany the pegasus on joint missions, keeping the majestic mount protected by means of her Death Ward spell.

The intricate barding which Bellatoris wears, though light in weight, appears as if it will provide considerable protection to the pegasus. I’m not even certain the armor will be needed as I’ve witnessed some of the most spectacular evasive maneuvers of my life while watching the pegasus and rider fly freely as we make our way to the monastery. Still, I’m sure the powerful flying steed will make good use of the armor as he flies headfirst into combat, causing collision after collision with his enemies. Some have also whispered that Milo may be carrying a deep red Ioun stone with him as well, a gift bestowed upon him in hopes of keeping the pegasus ally safe and to ensure their safe return home. It appears our travels are coming to a close as I see the parapet of the monastery’s rampart in the distance. While I have great faith in my companions, the odd flashes of light which seem to be flickering about the rampart fill me with dread. I do not feel all is as it is supposed to be yet again!

The battle for Rivergard Keep is over and the Cult of the Crushing Wave has fled. While we are victorious, the losses suffered by my companions are heavy, thanks in no small part to the emergence of Nidhogrym in the waning moments of the encounter. Our ranks were already running thin due to the ever-steady rain of frost arrows coming from the keep. So much so, that the appearance of the white dragon and his Cold Breath had many of us fearing that our mission would end in failure. Many of our gathering were temporarily taken out of the fight, Frozen in their tracks. So Vicious was Nidhogrym that his attacks continually kept us off balance, many times forgetting our bountiful training.

While the presence of an adult dragon is always disconcerting, we also had to deal with the Evil Sorcerer riding Nidhogrym. I watched helplessly as the dragonrider struck down one of my friends with a Witch Bolt. His casting of Blade Ward made the white dragon even more difficult to hit but ultimately, we were able to overcome the odds and emerge victorious. The dragon seems to have dropped a Brooch of Shielding during the combat, which I have secured and plan to turn over to Ulfgar on our way back to provide news of our encounter at Rivergard Keep to the Order of the Gauntlet.

Our arrival at Rivergard Keep has unearthed a grave development. The scouts have returned with word that the keep is secretly inhabited by the Cult of the Crushing Wave and they have troops in place to prevent anyone from meddling in their unseemly machinations. Aeryn Crestin seems to be leading the motley crew of mercenaries which have been assembled to protect the keep. Astride a Giant Toad, he keeps watch over the force, his steed ready to Swallow Whole anyone disobeying its master’s wishes.

Several of the water cult humans have the ability to shift form, becoming monstrous Werecrocodiles with enhanced melee abilities and a supernatural skin, tough and leathery. Many of the other guards have a Crabshell Shield which provides them additional safely from attacks. One of the more accomplished individuals reportedly has a Frost Brand at his side, ready to bring the two-handed weapon to bear on anyone foolish enough to come within his reach. The Freedom of Movement of the guarding party is going to make securing the keep and dispelling the followers of Olhydra, the princess of evil water a difficult task. One can only hope we have the fortitude to accomplish this mission and find some information to take back to the Order of the Gauntlet.

After a well-deserved rest following our adventure to the Primordial Graveyard, I find myself on another quest and am actually glad for the interruption to my lackadaisical days. I am joining Ulfgar Ironfist and his company for a mission to the Rivergard Keep. The shield dwarf fighter has long been an ally of the Order of the Gauntlet and is rumored to be highly proficient with his Arrow-catching Shield, which has saved him from many attacks if the rumors are to be believed. His enchanted Ring of the Ram has helped him in many combats by forcing his opponent to stand toe to toe with him rather than attack from the skies. Always ready with a Potion of Heroism to increase his combat abilities, it’s no wonder he’s been at this line of work for so many decades.

As we travel, I’ve heard many of his company recount stories of how Focused he can be while in combat, making sure his attention never waivers, keeping the enemy in sight at all times. Many of them laugh at the surprise his enemies have when they are on the receiving end of one of his Furious Blows. His rugged Toughness is evident by the many scars that adorn his armor, trophies of battles long since fought. This must be an especially harrowing mission as he has brought along the Hammer of Thunderbolts, a weapon of extreme destruction.

Entry #62
After a hard fought battle at the feet of Luminos the Mighty, we have been transported to our ultimate destination, the Primordial Graveyard. Here, I have witnessed an act unimaginable. Balagos has been slain; a victim of his own greed. In his place stands Maurghoros, whose spirit has emerged from a phylactery and taken possession of Balagos’ corpse as if it were his own body. As the battle begins, his fire breath engulfs several of my compatriots and I have to stay on the move in order to keep the flames from searing me. It is obvious that this evil foe is as much of a destroyer in death as he likely was in life. Maurghoros’ paralyzing touch has made several of our force easy targets for the rest of the Cult of the Dragon. My heart beats faster as I watch them stand stock still, unable to fend off their impending destruction, destined to see their fate sealed while they are powerless to defend themselves.

A great sense of confusion seems to have fallen upon us as we try our best to repel the onslaught of the evil forces. Quelindritar has assigned each of us an ancient ward which we need to activate in hopes of defeating the spirit of Maurghoros and his stolen body. As each ward is activated, unknown energies seem to come to life and impact all of those in the graveyard. Most upsetting is seeing my friends impacted more heavily due to them being affected by some spell that has caused their armor to shatter. I must continue on and fight with all of my skill as I feel this will be the final battle and the fate of everything hinges on emerging victorious.

Entry #61
Ah, the exuberance of youth. While the massive adamantine doors in the courtyard of Luminos the Mighty seem barred by some mystical force, we have discovered a secret passage that seems to be leading us into the ancient hall of the cloud giant. We are joined by Eyruaad, the young offspring of Quelindritar. The young bronze dragon has enlightened us to all of the many tricks he has in his repertoire that will help in the upcoming skirmish. Like all bronze dragons, he has told us of the far-reaching effects of his lightning breath as well as his repulsion breath, which can severely hamper the combat effectiveness of opponents nearby him.

I cannot help but feel my spirit lighten at the idealism shown by the young dragon. Once we arrive at our destination, I’m certain escaping the confines of these narrow passages will give him an opportunity to fly free and show us his amazing ability to hover in mid-air. Being the sole dragon in our ensemble, his ability to cast a shocking grasp upon the opponents will hopefully give us the edge we need. I see a light ahead, which can only be the end of this passage and perhaps the beginning of the end of this long and arduous quest. Who knows what awaits us. Will we finally receive the spoils we so desperately seek or will this last step end in ruin?

With all three mechanisms now activated, Pacatus has dispatched us to the courtyard of Luminos the Mighty where we are supposed to meet up with an ally he has sent ahead of us. As we race into the courtyard, I can hardly believe my eyes: Drizzt Do’Urden. He stands prepared for combat with his twin scimitars, Twinkle and Icingdeath, at the ready. Guenhwyvar, a huge and powerful-looking black panther, comes into view from behind one of the beautiful statues and I feel elated at the chance of seeing the duo perform in the upcoming battle. Though this chamber seems to be penned in by some invisible barrier overhead, I still hope for the opportunity to watch Drizzt wield the beautifully crafted Taulmaril in combat.

Tales have been whispered about the battle prowess he exhibits after undertaking a meditative trance. His combat reflexes are also a thing of legend, allowing him to react instinctively to an opponent’s movement before unleashing a lethal attack. His ability to create and manipulate faerie fire will be an extraordinary boon in the upcoming battle. With the dragon cult’s forces rapidly advancing on our position, I feel I’ll get a chance to witness the truth of all of the rumors whispered about Drizzt Do’Urden firsthand.

Entry #59
With the Gale Force Gate opened, we have taken it upon ourselves to venture forth to the Gate of Whispers to reinforce our companions. Considering our encounter with the awakened guardians of the last gate, I feel our help will be needed. Word has traveled through our troops that the final gate is guarded by Ancoram, a stone giant elder. My concern is well founded, as a dispatched elf sails over our heads, victim of his awesome blow. Another elf is unceremoniously slammed to the ground and dazed by a direct hit from a large, hurled rock. It would seem attempts to avoid the giant’s attacks as well as the shadowfell energy emanating from the Gate of Whispers may be too much for us to overcome.

Attacking him from afar seems to be futile, as he just catches the arrows midflight as if they were pebbles. Even when attacks do hit, his stone skin has made him all but completely impenetrable. Even the dynamic breath attacks of the dragons are not enough to fell the mighty giant as he uses his stone bracers to shield himself from their power. If only we could find a way to placate the giant and reassure him we are not here to desecrate the Primordial Graveyard but to protect it, we might gain his assistance and hurry on toward the palace courtyard gate before the Cult of the Dragon arrives.

With the Pulsating Gate opened and safeguarded from the Cult of the Dragon, Pacatus has sent several of us on to the Gale Force Gate in hopes of thwarting our enemy’s advance upon that entryway. As we came within view of the gate, it became painfully obvious that the cult members were not having as easy of a time as they had hoped. Standing guard over the gate was Malebolge, a gargoyle, and two magical basilisk statues. Though able to take flight, Malebolge seemed to grow more powerful when in contact with the ground, as if he were drawing strength from the floor beneath him. When he would freeze, his armor was nigh impenetrable, and being a creature of living stone, his armor was already formidable. Even while in flight, his inhuman toughness seemed to cancel even the most accurate attacks.

I am glad not to be on the receiving end of the attacks from his claws, especially after seeing several of the Cult of the Dragon fall before the follow-up attack from his stone jaws. The very weight of his form carries such momentum that he crosses incredible distances as he charges into combat.
With the Cult of the Dragon’s forces concentrating on the powerful gargoyle, we may be able to catch them unaware as we approach from behind and prevent them from gaining safe passage to the palace courtyard. If we can wrest the 7th Shard of Law from the cultists, who knows what bounty we can secure by opening the gate?

We have finally reached the Palace of Luminos the Mighty, but we still find ourselves at odds with the Cult of the Dragon. I’ve been dispatched with a group to stand guard at the Pulsating Gate alongside Pacatus, a mighty gold dragon who is rumored to be one of the original architects of the path I’ve recently found myself upon. His ability to cure wounds will be much appreciated by those of us of lesser strength than he. His fire breath is said to be capable of penetrating even the most hardened of armor but I am more amazed by his weakening breath, which can cause the stoutest warrior to wither in strength. Having a few feeble opponents to deal with will be a nice change from all of the action we’ve seen as of late.

Foes scatter before him lest they be snatched up like an old rag doll. So noble is he that a fair warning is always provided to an opponent, thus giving them the opportunity to bow out of a fight before being forced to face this mighty dragon’s fury. We’ve seen magic users laid waste by his counterspell. Even though we’ve faced many dangerous foes, I cannot help but feel safe with Pacatus on my side. Granted, I will never turn down a little bit of luck should it happen to come our way.

Entry #56
I am amazed at the sight before me. It seems like we are finally close to our objective and standing here in the presence of the Chainspire is more awe inspiring than when I beheld the gigantic monolith of Luminos the Mighty. Vakka, the ancient silver dragon who has been the guardian of the Chainspire has welcomed us into the eye of the storm surrounding Tempest Isle and has agreed to join us on our quest. She opened a Dimension Door that allowed us to pass safely through the maelstrom and I cannot help but think her added might will serve us well. Few can stand against her chilling Cold Breath and her Paralyzing Breath will be a great asset in the coming battle.

So strong is she that carrying a Human Paladin is of little effort to her. Several amongst the party are hoping she’ll choose them as her sole rider. Her flying ability is greatly enhanced by her Wing Attack, preventing an opponent from ever finding her without a way to fight back. She has seen much and learned much in her many years on the isle and is so potent in the magic arts that she can even make Time Stop. Soon, we shall begin our assent thru the eye of the storm and will finally set our eyes on the Palace of Luminos the Great.

Entry #54
Word has reached us that the Cult of the Dragon has made moves to secure assistance in penetrating the storms surrounding Tempest Isle and that several of our elven allies’ lives are to be the bargaining chip. Information gleaned from the recovered tome, A Recent History of the Moonshaes, points to the cult striking a bargain with Sycorax to gain entry onto the isle while they assist her in reclaiming the land she formerly ruled. We’ve all been advised on ways to avoid the Wicked Tongue of the harpy and will be steadfast in keeping from falling under her Captivating Song. If all goes well, our elven comrades will be back in our ranks shortly.

The tome describes her as a Sadistic Coward, doing all that she can to stay out of an enemy’s sights. Her Cruelty towards her opponent is also well documented in its pages. Scariest of all is the Monstrous Aim she exhibits when using her bow to take down anyone who dares oppose her will. Should we not arrive in time to save the captured elves, I fear all of our advances to this point may well be crushed under the mechanizations of the Cult of the Dragon. We cannot allow them to succeed at this task.

Though our quest has been relatively successful thus far and we have in our possession the keys needed to enter the gates of the Palace of Luminos the Mighty, my party has been unable to penetrate the powerful storms surrounding Tempest Isle. We’ve been sent to determine the whereabouts of Legunt, the “Royal Lorekeeper” of Claugiyliamatar, who was supposedly sent on an errand to secure information on how to penetrate the mighty tempest but has yet to return. While investigating, several witnesses have confirmed that Legunt was carried off by Blackthorn, a powerful wyvern known to terrorize the surrounding area. We are on our way to his cavernous abode and have been armed with much knowledge from the local villagers. Blackthorn is known to strike simultaneously with his razor sharp teeth and his long, serpentine tail. Woe to him who is pierced by his Stinger and exposed to its Deadly Venom.

Blackthorn’s Ferocious nature is evidently legendary and his Improved Grab ability has caught many unawares as he rends them with his claws only to follow up with a powerful attack from his tail. As he swoops in on his prey, even slings of arrows and spears seem to miss him every time thanks to his astounding Alertness. Hopefully we will be successful in our attempt to recover the bloated corpse of Legunt, escape with our lives intact, and gather some clue to help us continue our righteous quest.

Entry #46
We’ve been in the Nether Mountains for several weeks. Though we’ve been working close to the forces of the Cult of the Dragon, the excavation surrounding the large monolith has been relatively uneventful until this morning. Someone, somehow, has summoned Sarpiel, a movanic deva angel and he was not too happy to see so many evil creatures amongst those who might be corrupted by them. Now the uneasy truce has been shattered and the upper base camps are in immense turmoil. Though the glorious good angel was doing well holding his own thanks to his Holy Warhammer and Shield of Virtue, my comrades and I have leapt into service to help him dispense his Righteous Fury. We must continue to do everything we can to make sure the keys do not fall into the wrong hands.

His Soaring Assault upon the assembled foe was a magnificent sight to behold. Their attempts to slow him down and keep him from his holy mission seemed to be completely ineffective thanks in no small part to his Angelic Resistance. It was truly spellbinding to see the evil forces stymied by his ability to block attacks from afar or to inflict grievous wounds against those who attack him at close range with his divine Blade Barrier. Many have postulated that his appearance is linked directly to the gargantuan rendering of Luminos the Mighty. If so, a victory alongside this angelic paladin may hold the answer to finding the third key we so desperately seek.

After making our way through the deserted forest, my company has set up camp in a small clearing for a well-deserved rest. As we gathered around the campfire and shared stories of past adventures, I’ve felt compelled to write down a tale too outlandish to believe as told by one of my party. As we sat around partaking of our meal, he recounted to us “The Tale of Umberlis”:
“The legend begins with the introduction of Spite, a runty, black dragon who was bullied and forced out of the choicest of swamps. Eventually he took to the caves; consoled solely by “Inky”, a tattered, black cloak. There he stayed for several centuries. Alone. Unwanted. Slowly slipping into a seeming madness. Over time, he became a thing of shadow; dark and hidden. His Shadow Breath became a thing most frightening, able to inflict a Necrotic Oppression upon those which it fell.”

“No one knows exactly where he disappeared to but sometimes, on the darkest of nights, an unnatural shiver will run down a person’s spine in response to an unseen, but somehow felt, Frightful Presence. Woe to he who catches a glimpse of Spite, now reborn as the Merciless Umberlis. In the pitch black of night he moves. The shadows seem to follow him. It is as if a spell of unadulterated Darkness is always at his beck and call.”

“So if you are alone at night and can sense eyes upon you but cannot find from where it comes, you are almost certain…”
*SNAP*
It would appear the forest was not as deserted as we thought.

After adventuring with the elves and having my inkling confirmed, we have set off on a noble quest to help prevent the Cult of the Dragon from accomplishing their nefarious plans. Even as we near the Howling Chasm, I can see the Aaqa Elite Squadron riding the currents with seemingly effortless ease. We are to meet with Aaroqua, the aarakocra leader, in hopes that he will lend his battle prowess and forces to our just cause. If we are to succeed in locating the three keys, their help as well as their ability to Summon Air Elementals will be a boon. Having a skilled aerial troop by our side who has mastered the V Formation will give me great ease as we continue upon the road fate has placed us.

The troop’s proficiency at a Dive Attack has seen many enemies torn to shreds from the receiving end of a talon attack. Each troop usually has a Vigilant Watcher keeping eyes on the enemy forces so that, even from afar, the troop can be prepared for any eventuality. These nimble troops have been known for the ability to Disperse! at a moment’s notice to keep the full complement from being caught in an area attack from an opportunistic opponent. We’ll soon know if we will be able to enlist their aid. The echoing of the Howling Cavern is growing stronger but I’m not sure that is the only noise being carried along in the wind. If the aarakocra do hold one of the keys we seek, it’s entirely possible that the Cult of the Dragon have learned of this and sent troops of their own.

It has become apparent that something troubling is afoot. While our past adventures could be viewed as random happenstance, it’s become clear that there are forces in play that have set us upon this path. We now find ourselves aligned with the elves and are tasked with distracting the enemy force before us so that the Harper Legion Elves can safely deliver and d important message to Nymmestra. The Harper Legion Elves are one of the finest combat troops I’ve ever seen. Limnen, the elf leader, seems to inspire them in such a way that it seems their fighting prowess is never diminished in the face of an enemy onslaught. Their Elven Accuracy with bows is astounding and something no enemy wants to face.

A First Strike from the group has known to catch even the most powerful of opponents off guard and getting in a Point Blank Shot is a common occurrence for this highly trained group. However, they are more than just an offensive juggernaut. I’ve witnessed the swift ability to read an opponent’s actions and Reassemble their ranks to press the advantage and not be caught unaware.

Watching the troop form a Line Formation as they advance into the battleground and unleash a devastating attack upon the enemy is awe-inspiring. Seeing them move effortlessly across the field while in a Column Formation while under the protection of a Displacement spell makes one wonder how the opponent keeps from fleeing in defeat from the onset. Dawn’s light is beginning to show so I know the time for battle is near. With the Mithral Thorn to protect me and the other elves around me ready for battle, I am beginning to feel that this skirmish is all but won already.

After escaping relatively unscathed from our encounter with Balagos, my compatriots and I happened upon some information about a cache of treasures Eshaedra is moving through the nearby hills. We’ve set off disguised as ordinary highwaymen in hopes of catching the Zhentarim Warband escort by surprise. Members of the Zhentarim Warband are rumored to be well trained in close combat maneuvers and this particular party is supposed to be supported by Amog, a shaman leader. Constantly in Prayer, his divine spells greatly enhance the battle prowess of the entire company so hopefully a critical shot will find a way to dispatch him early in the engagement. Granted, the size of the warband is going to have a direct impact on our chances of success so I hope their numbers are not greater than we anticipated.

These troops are known to use Sophisticated Tactics to move swiftly around the battlefield and seeing a member of the troop down an opponent with a Power Attack is common place. While I’d much prefer we not engage them in close, I fear that type of confrontation is going to be necessary as they seem to be able to sense incoming ranged barrages and are able to Scatter! at a moment’s notice to avoid such an attack.

Being so well trained, we will have to be cautious as we advance our assault. They have mastered the Square Formation that prevents them from being outflanked and able to strike in any direction. Stories have been told of their ability to repel multiple foes with their use of a Wedge Formation as well. Rumors abound that the Juggernaut Mantlet is contained within the stores of Eshaedra’s treasure. I only hope the hobgoblins have not found it for use in the upcoming battle as being relatively unable to hurt them until they choose to attack could surely spell our doom.

What was supposed to be a fun training exercise has turning into a full scale battle. We were quite honored to be invited by the dwarves to this function but had we known this was the exact time Balagos had planned to enact his revenge, we’d likely have politely declined. Now we find ourselves desperately trying to figure out how to man a dwarven training ballista and are failing horribly at repelling the assaulting horde. Luckily, any hopes the evil red dragonhad were quickly shattered as he beheld Calamity, a sturdy, prototype dwarven ballista sitting firm behind a row of training siege weapons. Her operators move like a Well Oiled Machine and their Dwarven Precision seems to be able to find the weak points of their opponent with every shot.

The Artillery Master seems to be giving the trainees precise directions as to when and where to fire as their bolts seem to connect with unerring accuracy as if he is able to calculate the odds on the fly and eliminate any misstep on the part of the Dwarves. Any damage caused by the dragon and his minions has been quickly undone by a Skilled Machinist and some of the teams are so skilled that a Rapid Reload can be performed and another shot fired before the evil forces even have a chance to react. It was with great sadness that we witnessed the fall of a Demolitions Expert manning one of the ballista but not before he was able to make a bolt strike home against the great dragon, causing much collateral damage to those around Balagos. I had better get this contraption to work if I’m ever going to earn my promised compensation of a Bag Of Diamond Dust after this is all over.

After narrowly escaping the battle at Auvandell and having donated much of my resources to the rebuilding of that fine village, I have set out with a group across the Nether Mountains to replenish my dwindling reserves. Our travels were relatively uneventful until we ran across Jarl Horn, a particularly nasty frost giant. He charged forward in the blink of an eye, Frost Battle Axe in hand, Blackguard’s Mail heavy upon his shoulders. It became suddenly apparent that the previous avalanche of snow and rock was not a natural occurrence but due to monstrous waves from his Horn Of Blasting.

We are extremely lucky since he seems to be alone as I’ve heard whispered tales of a giant’s Battle Cry whipping up his underlings into a battle frenzy. I’m still hesitant to get within reach of his sweeping axe as it seems to glisten unnaturally as if it were a Poison Blade. Our ranged attacks seem to be doing little to slow him down but you would come to expect this dexterity from one whose hobbies likely involve Rock Catching. Our greatest combatant has been made ineffective as well thanks to the giant’s ability to Bestow Curses.

If we are able to wear him down I hope to have the opportunity to retrace our steps a bit as I was almost certain I saw a Scale Of The White Wyrm unearthed during the last rushing pass of snow near what appeared to be some ancient, monumental carving. Perhaps I’ll have some information and wares to dispose of should we safely reach our destination.

I’m not sure why the fates continue to conspire against me. I’ve been relaxing here in Auvandell, enjoying the rewards of my successful adventures. Now the village bustles with the clanging of an enchanted bell and I find myself in the midst of chaos (and for once, not of my own making!). Word has reached mine ears that Galadaeros is fast approaching to assist the beautiful and gifted Sun Elf wizard Nymmestra in her defense of the normal tranquil hamlet. She emerged as if out of nowhere just moments ago, gleaming Silver Staff in hand, adorned in the glowing splendor of her Mage Armor.

The approaching marauders are surely in for a shock when they arrive to find this striking wizard awaiting them. Her ability to Fly and her astounding Leadership skills will make her a natural compatriot for the inbound bronze dragon. Should the advancing horde have a magic wielder of their own, her ability to Dispel Magic will surely allow her to get the upper hand. I’m almost certain they would turn back if they knew they would be facing a guardian who could roast them with a roaring Fireball and even Disintegrate them from within.

I see the approaching bronze dragon on the horizon and can hear the invading forces as they approach. With that being said, I’m heading to the old dwarven keep I’ve passed many a times in the past week. Though it has been long abandoned, I believe its strong walls and fortified towers will keep me safe and out of harm’s way. After all, who could have any interest in this structure that’s fallen out of importance after such a very, very long time?

This entry will be brief as though this is not the most opportune of times, I feel the need to try and find some semblance of sanity within my current situation. After delivery of the Tome Of Naming to our benefactor, my party was given the opportunity to triple our earnings. Considering the relative ease with which we were able to evade the green dragon, we immediately jumped at the chance without asking too many questions. Now I sit here catching my breath as we are about to enter into the inner sanctum of Lord Maximilian. We were able to traverse the outer courts of the Barony Below rather swiftly and avoid his incorporeal wraith minions for the most part. I’m not sure the next step of our quest is going to run so smoothly.

We have already witnessed a doomed comrade increase his evil ranks as the wraiths Create Spawn from the fallen. With our party dwindling, I shudder at the thought of one of us falling prey to Lord Maximilian’s Sinister Plot only to be viciously struck down as he enforces his Malevolent Will. Tales of the Swift Strike he can cause upon an opponent sends chills down my spine as I imagine the helplessness of being wounded without even the satisfaction of striking back before he effortlessly floats away. I look at the ancient sword, Chisel, which our benefactor has provided and wonder if it will even assist us with subduing the dread wraith as he uses his Life Drain to maintain his fighting prowess.

Our instructions were simple yet puzzling. “Show him the sword to unearth memories long forgotten. This is your task.” Show him the sword. Show him the SWORD!?
Well, we better get on with this.

I’m not sure how I continually get myself into these predicaments but here I am again in an adventure and way over my head. My party and I have heard rumors of a powerful tome in the collection of Claugiyliamatar and are currently on our way to secure it for a mysterious benefactor. As we make our way deeper into the forest, I cannot help but feel that there are eyes upon us from every angle. Our plan is simple and direct, get in, get the book, and get out. I feel we will have to split the party in two if we have any chance of success as even the most hearty of warriors is said to tremble in fear if the green dragon has you in her sights. I only hope I’m one of the lucky ones who does not have to meet her head on as I’ve heard many a stories about wayward individuals falling victim to her Poison Breath and the subsequent debilitating effects of Toxic Affliction. I’ve continually heard of the scorn she has for all of those she deems beneath her and the Derision she heaps upon them can exhaust even those with strong fortitudes.

I’ve heard tales that while Old Gnawbones hungers for increased magical knowledge, she still has some potent spells at her disposal. My concerns are great that her Invisibility may cause us some issues in securing our objective and getting out of the forest alive. She is reportedly rumored to have some Protection From Energy that is of grave concern to several of my comrades. Honestly, I’m more afraid of being caught in the midst of an Ice Storm with gale force winds that cut to the bone and swirling sleet that can invade even the smallest of gaps in our armor.

I must bring this entry to a close as it appears the forest is thinning out which can only be a sign that we are nearing our moment of truth. I truly hope this Tome of Naming is worth our lives as I do not feel we are up for the task ahead. Hopefully this entry is not my last.
