In order to bring its forces to their peak performance level now that the Borg are an imminent threat, Starfleet has issued orders for all of the ships in its fleet to run battle simulations, creating scenarios in which newer, superior ships are battling older, weaker ones. In these simulations, all weapon systems are to be rendered harmless to prevent any actual damage from occurring. The Federation has enlisted the aid of the Zakdorn, a race known for their battle strategy to help them in this endeavor. The Zakdorn Master Strategist Sirna Kolrami will run the simulations and assess the performance level of all the “combatants”.
While participating in an officer exchange program, your fleet has become engaged with an enemy fleet and an unknown substance has been discovered on the hulls of the ships of both fleets. The substance is a rare subatomic bacteria capable of doubling in size at a rapid rate and reacting with compounds in the structures of your ships' hulls. If not treated, it will destroy the ships, but a method has been found to remove this destructive bacteria using a tunneling neutrino beam. Will your fleet be able to survive both the enemy fleet and the subatomic bacteria?
On what was to be a routine mission to check the status of the outpost on planet Cestus III, you find
that the outpost has been destroyed and you are suddenly ambushed by the enemy forces on the
planet. Thinking quickly, you thwart the ambush and return to your ships. A battle ensues between
your fleets. Suddenly, the battle is stopped and your Captains are vanishing from your ships.
The Metrons, a highly advanced race of beings, have placed your fleets into their “arena” in an
uncharted solar system. They have prepared a planet of suitable atmosphere and begin taking your
Captains from their ships and transporting them onto the planet. The surface of the planet will
provide the raw materials for the Captains to construct weapons with which to battle each other.
The Metrons have declared that the victorious Captains will be allowed to return to their ships and
determine the fate of both fleets.
While responding to a distress signal in an uncharted sector, you quickly learn that it was a trap and find yourself engaged in combat with enemy ships. Unbeknownst to both fleets, your battle has taken you into an annex of the Tholian Assembly and Tholian ships have begun weaving a deadly energy web around your fleets. Your only chance to survive is to defeat your enemy before the web is completed and hope that your remaining ships can escape the powerful draw of the Tholian Web.
